Multiple People Shot at Howe Community Park Sacramento – Unlawful Gathering Turns Violent





On Saturday evening, an unapproved gathering of an estimated several hundred individuals at the Howe Park area in the Arden-Arcade section of Sacramento turned violent when 20 to 25 rounds echoed through the area as law enforcement officers were in the process of removing people from the park.

The Incident

Around 6:30 in the evening, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office received reports involving people potentially carrying concealed firearms at the Arden-Arcade park. A follow-up call indicated a potential fight and subjects running away.

Law enforcement air support was sent to the area and swept the area but was unable to locate any active disturbance.

At the same time, an estimated several hundred attendees had come together at Howe Community Park for what deputies referred to as an unlawful gathering. Law enforcement personnel formed a perimeter around the park, switched on their vehicle lights, and spent approximately 15 minutes commanding the crowd to clear out via loudspeaker announcements.

While deputies were dispersing the crowd, upwards of 20 gunshots filled the night air — causing hundreds to flee in panic.

Those Injured

Four victims — one female and three males, each in their 20s — were rushed to local hospitals. Two were treated for immediate injuries, one suffered moderate injuries, and one suffered injuries classified as minor. All four were listed as stable. Sacramento Metropolitan Fire was on scene and assisted at the location.

Scene Details

The incident occurred on the Cottage Way side of the park close to the nearby Home Depot at the check here 2200 block of Howe Avenue. The Home Depot was put under a brief lockdown. Further shell casings were discovered on Cottage Way, with projectile damage found in the wrought iron fence surrounding the nearby Home Depot — indicating gunfire directed south from the Cottage Way area toward the store. CSI units and detectives processed evidence at the scene throughout the night.

Suspect Information

According to scanner audio, it was reported that a suspect Howe Park Sacramento gunfire car — identified as a Kia — was pulled over in nearby Solano County with click here four occupants detained. Law enforcement units were heading to Solano County to pick up the suspects and bring them back to Sacramento for questioning. Video confirmed two gunmen were present.
